Under the microscope: Glowing alien-like flea takes top photography prize
This strange alien-like creature is not a character from a science-fiction blockbuster but actually from far closer to home. The eerily beautiful image is of a water flea with a radiant green ‘crown of thorns’ to protect it from predators.
It took top prize in the 2009 Olympus BioScapes Digital Imaging Competition, the world’s foremost forum for showcasing microscope photos and movies.

HU-210

HU-210 is a synthetic cannabinoid that was first synthesized in 1988 from (1R,5S)-Myrtenol by the group led by Professor Raphael Mechoulam. HU-210 is 100 to 800 times more potent than natural THC from cannabis and has an extended duration of action.  The abbreviation HU stands for Hebrew University.

HU-210, alongside other synthetic cannabinoids like WIN 55,212-2 and JWH-133, is implicated in preventing the inflammation caused by Amyloid beta proteins involved in Alzheimer’s Disease, in addition to preventing cognitive impairment and loss of neuronal markers.

HU-210 is a potent analgesic with many of the same effects as natural THC.
