ES Taste Tests the New Crystal Guinness
A malted beverage that is made from the same Irish barley as the company’s flagship stout, Crystal Guinness goes through the same roasting process that gives Guinness stout its signature dark color. Only here, a “secret formula” is added at the roasting phase to produce the opposite effect — a completely clear, translucent beer that maintains Guinness’ flavor but is significantly lighter in texture, has only 95 calories per pint, and obviously looks nothing like a stout.

Bubblegum Vodka Recipe:
All you need is your favorite vodka and bubble gum. I used Absolut and Double Bubble. I decided to go with a ratio 1:1 for shots to pieces of gum. For every shot I poured, I added one piece of bubblegum. I would suggest cutting the gum into small pieces to increase surface area. This will allow for the color and flavor of the gum to dissolve into the vodka faster. Depending on the size of the party you are having, you can make this infusion as large or as small as you decide. I suggest storing the infusion in a container that has a lid. It will take several hours for the infusion to work. I left mine overnight and it was done by the next morning.
All that is left to do is remove the gum and give the vodka a stir.

Strawberry Margarita Jell-O Shooters
Strawberry Prep:
Cut the bottoms of the strawberry flat to get them to stand upright. When you do so, make sure that you do not cut off so much that there is a hole at the bottom.
Use a huller or apple corer to empty out the strawberry.
Once the strawberries have been emptied, use a towel to pat the outside of the strawberries dry.
Check each strawberry and make sure there is not a hole in the bottom before you start filling.
Margarita Mix
1 box Strawberry Jell-O
4 ounces tequila, preferably reposado or blanco
2 ounce Cointreau
Salt for garnish
Instructions
Boil one cup of hot water in a saucepan, then add in Jell-o powder and whisk until powder is completely dissolved, about 2 minutes. Set aside. Measure out 1/4 cup of cold water and set aside.
Combine tequila and Cointreau, in cocktail shaker filled with ice. Add liquour mixture to cold water and stir to combine. Then add cold liquour mixture to hot Jell-o mixture and stir to combine.
Pour final Jell-o mix into strawberries and chill overnight. Dip your finger in water or use a moistened brush to wet the edge of the strawberries, dip and rotate the strawberries in salt to rim. Garnish with cut lime triangles to finish.
